Standish Consort was established in 2022 by the Oxford Alumni Society of Gloucestershire with Mark Wilson as Musical Director. It is a chamber choir of around 20 singers, drawn from Oxford and Cambridge alumni in Gloucestershire and their friends. Mark Wilson also leads Ensemble La Notte, who specialise in Baroque music and often accompany the consort. Standish Consort rehearses and performs in St Nicholas’ Church, Standish and is available for weddings and sung services. It specialises in early and unaccompanied repertoire. Mark Wilson is an exciting young musician based in Stroud, who graduated in 2019 with First Class Honours from the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. He is in demand as a tutor, and enjoys teaching a vast range of music and musical styles to both bassoon and vocal students.
