Funerals

A funeral marks the end of a human life on earth. A service in either church or crematorium provides an opportunity for family and friends to come together to pray, to remember, to express their grief and to commend the person who has died into God’s keeping. The words of the service provide reassurance and comfort, and remind us that whoever we are, we are loved, welcomed, forgiven and cared for by God.

Funerals are usually arranged, and paid for, via a Funeral Director and you can find these via the Internet, local phone books or parish magazines. Any questions you have about the practicalities including what might be possible or permissable inside a church building can be directed to the Funeral Director who will either already know or who will be able to find out

The clergy and church family will support you through the process of arranging the funeral, and we will support you with our friendship and prayers as appropriate afterwards. You may like to visit this Church of England website to find help and advice too.

If you wish to discuss something concerning a funeral, which cannot be directed to a funeral director, please contact us via the form below or contact us via the contact us page.
