Fretherne Church is a beautiful little gem of a church and with a great depth of history dating back over 700 years. The church is close to the Severn Way and is often visited by walkers. The church is open every Wednesday and Sunday from 9am to 4pm. If you would like to visit at other times please contact the Churchwarden.
History
Fretherne a small parish of 150 people. Festivals such as Harvest, Easter and Christmas often sees the church full of locals. Church services have a modern focus, with the aim to attract all generations.
The Church is known as Gloucestershire's Mini Cathedral. It is a tiny church of great beauty, with a depth of history researched and documented. It was completely rebuilt in Victorian times and is of national interest being an unusually ornate design for a village church.
